The proliferation of unsightly security grilles in social security offices, post offices and commercial premises such as jewelers and petrol stations is a reminder that ordinary security glasses have their limitations. In general security glasses are designed to provide a barrier to opportunist attack only. It would be expected that the attacker would be apprehended before the glass fails.
TEGO™ Security Glass is the first glass to be successfully tested to Loss Prevention Certificate (LPS) 1175 as part of a secure window system and has also been assessed to provide equivalent protection in half-door vision panels. TEGO™ security glass enables the designer to meet two previously conflicting design criteria – ensuring high levels of security and normalizing secure areas through better use of daylighting.
TEGO™ Security Glass is designed for use in areas where penetration of the glazing is costly, undesirable or even unthinkable. It provides resistance to prolonged attack form a wide range of tools which professional criminals use. At the time of writing, it is the only glass to pass classes SR1-SR4of the LPS 1175 test. The make-up is a glass-polycarbonate composite, uniquely bonded with a 2mm thick layer of tough clear resin. TEGO™ Security Glass should be specified for installation in high security windows, screens and doors in Government offices, secure institutions and commercial premises.
